Sustainable fashion is still a fairly new concept with very little
known as to what practices are of real benefit to the Earth long-term.
We believe that every little bit counts. Here's what we are doing to put forth our best effort in women's fashion.
We hold our products and choice of materials to high quality standards with the intention to provide a product that lasts. Our styles are machine washable and tested to ensure they maintain their color and shape.
Most fast-fashion retailers are most concerned about their bottom line. In order maintain their costs low, they cut corners sacrificing the quality. Thereby creating a subpar product that may not outlast 2 or 3 wears or washes.
We design our products to provide versatility. From our idea of the clothes being bump-friendly (wearable through a pregnancy and beyond) which reduces the need to buy clothes that can only be worn for a few months and then need to be thrown away.
We encourage our customers to wear their clothes for longer. We offer ideas and styling tips to show them how to use their purchased garments over and over again.. And we promote that by buying better, they can buy less.
The best way to reduce waste is to create less waste. That's why we produce in small batches as opposed to the larger productions that are more common practice in the industry because they are more cost effective. We also have a made-to-order system where we only make what we sell and therefore producing less waste.
The waste problem is the biggest one in the fashion world when it comes to the environment. Fast-fashion thrives by producing massive amounts of clothing at tiny prices. The issue is that those massive amounts of poorly made clothes often end up in landfills. Some of these clothes are designed after trendy and passing fads that are very time sensitive and become obsolete. When no one wants them anymore or they don't sell, they are thrown away.
Producing our collections locally and sourcing our materials domestically reduces the carbon emissions of manufacturing overseas. But a big plus for us is that we are close to our product, overseeing it from beginning to end so that the end product is outstanding.
We are mindful of the plastics we use in packaging our collections, and have reduced them as much as possible. As an e-commerce brand that ships everywhere, we want to protect your purchase from water damage as much as possible and therefore must use some plastic. We are working on finding a viable biodegradable option to protects the garments as they transit to their destination.
We work to create fashion that is designed and made to last.
